Bethany and Dan
We were very excited to be the Braxted Park Wedding Photographers on the most special of days for Bethany and Dan. In the absolutely gorgeous location of Braxted Park, close to London, this wedding was a celebration of love, family and friendship – with a little bit of glamour thrown in for good measure. The couple were keen to stay within their native Essex for their wedding, and Braxted Park had everything they needed to create their perfect day – dramatic elegant architecture, formal charm and stunning Georgian features as a backdrop for their photographs.
Bethany and Dan had shared with us that they had done much research into wedding photographers in the UK, and they had asked us to their big day because they liked our unique use of light. They also hoped for some pictures that showed a stylish, romantic and intimate atmosphere, and we were delighted to be able to do this for them.

This charming couple have such a large amount of family and friends that the wedding was inevitably going to be a big one, but big really was beautiful in this case! We’ve never felt so much friendship and love in one place; everyone was so relaxed and friendly and it created an atmosphere of genuine fun and delight that pervaded the whole day.
Having met at the Brownstock Festival, Bethany and Dan certainly have a zest for life and laughter that came through in their photographs. He had proposed on a beach in Cornwall, but this was no ordinary beach proposal – he had gone live on Facebook in order to share it with their friends and family! A very modern approach, but one that really seems to have suited this brilliant couple.
The big day offered many highlights that we felt so lucky to have caught on our cameras, such as Bethany’s bridal preparations. She chose a chic, elegant dress with clean lines that was accompanied with pretty crystal sandals. Her bridesmaids all lent a hand to help her prepare. With a pretty trim of soft lace adding texture to her dress and a soft veil promising romance, she looked every inch like she had just stepped out of the pages of a glamorous bridal magazine.

Not to be upstaged, however, Dan made his own amazing entrance. Yes, of course – he arrived on the perfectly manicured lawn in a helicopter! This cued many laughs and cheers. The ceremony then began in earnest in the walled garden, with clean crisp styling. The vows were made under a white gazebo and the couple were gently feathered with confetti as they walked back through the garden. Fresh cocktails were served and there was a wonderfully relaxed, happy atmosphere – what made this wedding even more special is that the VIP guest was the couple’s beautiful daughter. We really enjoyed taking some adorable pictures of her with her parents throughout the day.
Stealing away from the crowds, the couple took a quiet moment under the shade of the tree walk, where we were able to snap some very natural, tender embraces between this pair who were so at ease and relaxed with each other – this really shone through in those sensitive moments. We also savoured getting some stunning shots of Bethany alone – she made an enchanting figure, almost otherworldly in her joy.
This wedding was amazingly fun and memorable, with highlights for everyone including a fun props booth (a photographer’s dream!) that created some hilarious moments. The dance floor was abundant with shimmering fabric and fairy lights and there was an incredible amount of giggling and mirth during the wonderful speeches – and of course the bride shed a tear or two! It is at moments like this that we realise getting to do the Braxted Park wedding photography for couples like Bethany and Dan is a special privilege. But our favourite photo of the whole day? The truly wonderful moment of the couple on the dancefloor with their gorgeous daughter. What could make a wedding day more special than that?
